Officials shouldn't be snooping for private records on Ohioans who are thrust into public eye

"Gov. Ted Strickland should order his agency directors not to snoop on private citizens who land in the campaign spotlight. Such scrutiny could have a chilling effect on the willingness of people to stand up and be counted prior to elections.

"It also undermines the confidence of all Ohioans that their state government is serious about protecting sensitive information."

and

"Unauthorized and unjustified dredging of restricted government databases to find possibly embarrassing information on Americans simply for participating in democracy is unacceptable.

"At the very least, Jones-Kelley should be reproved, and anyone who conducted an illegal search of Wurzelbacher's records should be prosecuted."

Don't mess with our Messiah!

Plundering the Plumber’s Records: Suddenly, the Left isn’t concerned about privacy.

"If Joe the Plumber were Jawad the Suspected Terrorist, civil-liberties activists would stampede the halls of Congress on his behalf. Liberal columnists would hyperventilate over the outrageous invasions of his privacy by Ohio state and local employees. The ACLU would demand the Big Brother snoopers’ heads. And Democratic leaders would convene immediate hearings and parade him around the Beltway as the new poster boy/victim of unlawful domestic spying.

"But because peaceful American citizen Joe Wurzelbacher is an outspoken enemy of socialism, rather than an enemy of America, the defenders of privacy have responded to his plight with an impenetrable cone of silence."

and

"But when freelance members of the Obama Goon Squad take it upon themselves to do opposition research on The One’s citizen critics and rummage through government databases, where are all the privocrats? And how safe will your state tax and IRS records be if Dear Leader is elected?

"Welcome to Obama’s America."

Stalin in blackface?

"Were it revealed that Sen. John McCain's campaign contributed a large sum of cash to an organization that had been proven to be complicit in voter fraud favoring Republican interests, his bid for the presidency would be over. Yet we hear nary a peep from the establishment press, which has gone so far as to hide information that would be damaging to the candidate."

and

"Nor will they hear about certain parties illegally gleaning information on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (aka 'Joe the Plumber') after Wurzelbacher asked Obama on camera if he was going to raise his taxes. This resulted in instant notoriety for Wurzelbacher and renewed fears over Obama's tax policies. Last week, it was revealed that information on Wurzelbacher was accessed via computers belonging to the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, the Ohio Attorney General, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department.

"'That's just kind of wrong,' Wurzelbacher was quoted as saying vis-à-vis the invasion of his privacy.

"Wrong? It's Stalinist. One wonders what tactics an Obama administration will employ if the man actually becomes president. Several readers have already offered this columnist the use of uncomfy accommodations in root cellars and foreign countries for four to eight years. Postulation that the Obama campaign is the only organization that stood to gain by investigating or discrediting the Ohio plumber is unlikely to be discussed on the airwaves to any significant degree.

"The 'Joe the Plumber' indiscretions are not the only instances of quasi-Stalinist machinations on the part of the Obama campaign. Obama has sought to quash advertising that has addressed some of the more potentially damaging controversial aspects of his history and policies, from gun control to his association with former terrorist William Ayers. In August, the Obama campaign attempted to bully WGN-AM radio in Chicago into canceling an appearance of conservative writer Stanley Kurtz, a vocal Obama critic. Last week, the campaign cut access for Florida television station WFTV after an interviewer asked Sen. Joe Biden, Obama's running mate, pointed questions about some of the more challenging criticism the candidate has had to face.

"Much of the honest analysis of Obama has generally been regarded by his campaign as something to be neutralized through legal action, activist pressure or accusations of racism."

Clerk charged with unlawful search of Joe the Plumber

There are laws against this kind of thing:

"Toledo Police have confirmed that a TPD records clerk is accused of performing an illegal search of information related to 'Joe the Plumber.'

"Julie McConnell, has been charged with Gross Misconduct for allegedly making an improper inquiry into a state database in search of information pertaining to Samuel Wurzelbacher on Oct. 16.

"Wurzelbacher came under the spotlight after being spoken about during the final presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain.

AMERICA'S WORST NIGHTMARE

"People wonder how Benito Mussolini, who was duly elected in a Republican form of government could successfully overthrow that government and become a dictator. They likewise wonder how Adolph Hitler, whose National Socialist Party was elected as a minority party in a Republican form of government could, within 33 days, become the Chancellor of Germany and dictator, and ultimately, possess the power of life and death over two third of Europe."

and

"Roosevelt, the New Deal Congress and the New Deal federal judges that the Democratic super majority appointed to safeguard the New Deal, rubber-stamped laws that violated the separation of powers and began the slow process of erasing the tenets of liberty by changing the rules of how free elections are held, and who gets to vote, in order to give the far left an edge by changing the equation of liberal vs conservative mindsets in the country on election day. By easing voting restrictions under the guise of protecting democracy by making sure everyone in the country has a right to vote, the far left has been able to register millions of people who, because they are not citizens, they are felons, they are dead, or they are minors, are simply not eligible to vote."

and

Joe the Plumber said he hoped other Americans wouldn't be afraid to question the political candidates seeking to run our country because of the microscope he was put under. "If we are too afraid to question our elected officials, the America I grew up in and love, is gone. Maybe if enough of us are willing to question our government and those in other places of power, perhaps we can take back our country." He said the media chose to dig into his private life to find something that would embarrass him—or John McCain—"...because the media has an agenda, plain and simple."

Obama and the conspiratorial media

"I am sincerely worried that if Obama wins, the checks and balances incorporated into our Constitution may not be enough to prevent a radical and irreversible diminution of our individual liberties, because a confluence of factors has emerged to create a climate conducive to fundamental change.

"These factors are: a shockingly unknown candidate whose mysterious past and numerous shady alliances are deliberately left unexplored by a corrupt, supportive media; the candidate's charismatic qualities that inspire a cultish loyalty; his intellectual trappings that create a fascination and allure among the intellectual elite, including some hypnotized conservatives; a major financial crisis that exacerbates the people's fears and uncertainties; a largely manufactured cloud of negativity placed over America by the media and a grossly partisan Democratic Party that places its self-interest above the national interest; and an apparently discredited Republican Party and conservative movement that have been blamed for our actual and perceived problems."

"All of these could lead to entrusting this man with unprecedented power, giving him a license to operate with minimum scrutiny and an opposition party effectively impotent to oppose his radical blueprint for America."

and

"Would Obama win if people believed he might well nationalize health care, unilaterally disarm our nuclear weapons, push the Global Poverty Act, appoint judges to the left of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, pass legislation banning handguns, greatly increase federal spending by euphemistically disguising it as a stimulus package, increase taxes on producers and expand 'redistribution,' impose limitations on private executive salaries, empower labor unions, further nationalize public education with the leftist indoctrination agenda of the National Education Association, further open our borders, ratify the Kyoto climate change treaty, abandon Israel, retreat and surrender in Iraq, dramatically reduce the defense budget, possibly reinstate the draft in the name of racial equity, nationalize our private 401(k) funds, abuse governmental power to target and investigate dissent from ordinary 'Joes,' and implement the Fairness Doctrine to shut down political dissent from his talk-radio critics?

Hollywood insiders rip MSNBC, defend Palin

"Bloodworth-Thomason and others seemed especially critical of the way MSNBC -- and other media -- has attacked Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin while demeaning her supporters.

"'We should stop the demonizing,' she said, adding that Democrats have been worse than Republicans as far as personal attacks on candidates are concerned. 'It diminishes us,' she said of her fellow Democrats."

Skinfolk ain't my kinfolk

"Unfortunately, most black Americans view this election from a single lens, that of race. If you don't support Barack Obama, you're a racist. If you don't support Barack Obama and you're black, you're a self-loathing, Stephin Fechit Uncle Tom - and those are the nice things they'll say about you. Just ask James T. Harris who Heidi Thiess saluted as 'a black man who dares to be a Republican in the Age of Obama.' Because he publicly implored Senator McCain to 'take it to Obama,' he has been under constant attack.

"Just ask Huntley Brown, a black Christian pianist who wrote a personal e-mail to friends expressing why he wasn't going to vote for Barack Obama (http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/huntleybrown.asp). That e-mail made it into the blogosphere and before long he was under attack. 'I am not a politician. I am not a Democrat or a Republican. I am a Christian independent who just loves the Lord,' he said. 'The sad part is I have been getting hate mail and my family is being harassed. As you can imagine, not everyone is happy with my e-mail. God bless you richly.' I presume he's speaking of the one true God, not the god of Rev. Jeremiah Wright who hates America and white people."

and

"As a conservative who just happens to be black, I've learned first-hand that identity politics in the black community only goes so far. Here in Maryland we had an opportunity in 2006 to elect the first black U.S. Senator in our state's history, Lt. Gov. Michael Steele. Pennsylvania and Ohio could have elected their first black governors, Republicans Lynn Swann and Ken Blackwell respectively. I was a Republican candidate for the Maryland Senate running against a white 30+ year incumbent who was ambivalent at best to black interests. Blacks voted against their own in droves that year, however, with one black pastor in our state declaring from the pulpit that 'your skinfolk ain't necessarily your kinfolk.' Funny that the IRS let him off the hook since it was clearly an endorsement of Michael Steele's opponent, who was white. Seems the race card has only one side to it. When my black friends say I should support Barack Obama because he's black, perhaps my response should be 'my skinfolk ain't necessarily my kinfolk.'

"Who are my kinfolk? My kinfolk are people who believe what's on the inside matters more than what's on the outside. My kinfolk put their relationship with God before their race. My kinfolk believe in forgiveness and reconciliation, following the example of Christ, rather than carrying grudges and looking for payback. My kinfolk believe in the dignity of every human being, born and unborn, and would never consider the killing of innocent children a sacred right. My kinfolk believe we have an equal right to pursue happiness, not a right to have it guaranteed by taking from some and giving to others. My kinfolk believe our nation's success comes from its people, not its government.

"The great thing about my kinfolk is there's no ethnic or racial litmus test to be included. It's really all about character. Here, the dream still lives."

Voting blind – or not

"Does it bother Obama that leaders in countries and groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, al-Qaida, Iran, Syria, North Korea, China and others which hate us praise the possibility of an Obama presidency?"

Is there is a new TV sitcom in the works -- "I Love A Weak U.S. President"? Think about it. If you hated the U.S., would you want a strong or weak president?

and

"Joe the Plumber gained instant notoriety. Media investigated his entire life, and almost everything was dragged into the spotlight – from his divorce to travel to employment details."

You would think Joe was running for president as a Republican with such media scrutiny.

Government computers used to find information on Joe the Plumber

"State and local officials are investigating if state and law-enforcement computer systems were illegally accessed when they were tapped for personal information about 'Joe the Plumber.'"

Blindly we go -- down the path of socialism

"As a result of his question, Wurzelbacher has been smeared, investigated, scrutinized, and disparaged by the Obama campaign and the left. Joe says this is dangerous when we can't even ask a question of our elected officials. I too have a question for Obama: Where is all that $600 million in campaign money coming from? Obama won't disclose it, and I suspect for good reason. There is just no way that that amount of money can all be from legal donations. Not even half."

Communists for Obama: Stalinist tactics used to silence critics

Please pay attention to this article:

"'Our time has come...I can see a role for the Communist Party USA in the next period.' Those words from Libero Della Piana, an operative speaking at the headquarters of the Communist Party USA and eagerly anticipating an Obama presidency."

Christians for Obama, I have a question. How is it you can endorse someone who the Communists also endorse? Don't you know history? Communists hate you and would kill you if they could. Communists endorse those who are the opposite of your values and morals. They even hate your God. How can two walk together unless they be agreed?

"This experience is but one example of the Stalinist tactics used by operatives for the Obama campaign to try to shut up its critics. If they will resort to the jack boot before the election, one can imagine what they'll do once they actually gain power.

"'Our time has come,' crowed the spokesman for the Communist Party USA. So it would seem.

Assassination of Joe the Plumber

"The Obama Media rushed to the aid of their 'anointed messiah' and joined the amen chorus of paid Obama bloggers who had immediately went to guns in a take-no-prisoners attack on the Ohio voter who foolishly dared to question Obama’s plan to pillage every Joe the Plumber across America, who still believes that freedom not - doled out free stuff, individual achievement - not government entitlements, will empower every American."

How the Dems Plan to SHUT UP THE RIGHT

"A (God Forbid) President Obama, will work with a Democratic congress to place even greater restrictions on the free speech of those who disagree with the liberal agenda."

So America wants Socialism, eh?

"In the mid-sixties, Union activists started visiting my Dad’s shop, pressuring [harassing] him to hire Union Employees and pay Union Wages. As Ohio was a 'right to work' state at that time [as I recall]. Dad told them that this was his business and that if they wanted to set the rules that they should go start their own business. This was unacceptable to these organizers. I remember the resulting vandalism, a slashed tire the following night on the family’s only vehicle. Our vehicle served as family car and business vehicle. This was that taste of the kind of 'thugocracy' that columnist Michael Barone warned of recently. I have always retained a bad taste in my mouth for Union Organizers because of this. Calls to the police never resulted in any arrests. Telephone threats persisted. Today, forty years later, ACORN has shown that nothing has changed."

and

"Believe me, I have lived in Socialist Western Europe for six years and spent a lot of time in Communist East Berlin in the 1980s. If the crushing taxes, restrictive regulations and the endless state propaganda in these societies do not crush your spirit, the utter boredom due to living in the collective conformity of ideas and attitudes will. If we allow another four to eight years of Liberal Super Majorities to rule over America, we will not recognize our county once that transformation is complete."

Obama: Springing a “Leak?”

"What do liberals fear the most? Having their true agenda revealed prior to an election. That is precisely why the Obama campaign and its media echo chamber have attempted to destroy Joe Wurzelbacher, aka 'Joe the Plumber.'"It is ironic that liberals, who consider themselves intellectually superior to ordinary Americans, have completely missed the point regarding Mr. Wurzelbacher. It is not the man himself who resonates. He is nothing more than a symbol for millions of 'Joe Plumber Americans' sick to death at the prospect of having their hard-earned wealth 'spread around' by the self-professed arbiters of fairness. And their concern is only heightened as they watch an ordinary guy like Mr. Wurzelbacher having his life dragged through the media mud–for no other reason than asking the Anointed One a question that blew the cover off his carefully crafted image."Memo to the libs: It wasn’t the question Mr. Wurzelbacher asked that snapped a lot of Americans back to reality. It was Barack Obama’s answer to it."

and

"The coordinated attempt to ruin Mr. Wurzelbacher is a damning indication of what Americans can expect from an Obama administration: there will be no toleration of dissenting viewpoints. Those that dare to challenge Mr. Obama’s 'vision' will have their entire lives subjected to an exhaustive investigation–the sole purpose of which will be to assassinate the dissenter’s character and subject him or her to national ridicule."

Let's watch that new game show "Who Wants to be a Political Target?"

'Joe' wildly received on Fox News show

"'It actually upsets me,' Mr. Wurzelbacher said. 'I am a plumber, and just a plumber, and here Barack Obama or John McCain, I mean these guys are going to deal with some serious issues coming up shortly. The media's worried about whether I paid my taxes, they're worried about any number of silly things that have nothing to do with America. They really don't. I asked a question. When you can't ask a question to your leaders anymore, that gets scary. That bothers me.'"

Lesson: If you are a coward, do not approach Democratic presidential candidates with your questions. You will be sliced, diced, carved, and served at a media barbeque.

Why The Left Always Resorts To Brute Force

"Only two days later Obama, Biden, the DNC, and many in the mainstream leftist establishment (you call them the media) go wall to wall on the attack against... the man who asked the question, not the one who gave the answer."

and

"One lesson learned from this week: when the left feel weakened they will level you with brute force, if necessary, to keep their stranglehold on the lifeline to our pocketbooks."

The Left Declares War on Joe the Plumber Hang him!

Vee vill not tolerrrate crrriticism of our Leader!

"The left’s political plumbers are attacking the messenger, rummaging through his personal life and predictably wielding the race card once again. It’s standard operating procedure for the Obama thug machine."

Yes, Joe is probably an alien from other world and secret member of the Aryan Nations too

Obama campaign begins systematic destruction of Joe the Plumber

JOE MUST BE ELIMINATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO DISSENSION WILL BE TOLERATED OR ALLOWED!

"Believing their candidate was caught off-guard and somehow 'forced' by Wurzelbacher to tell the truth, Joe is now — ala Sarah Palin — being skewered, drawn and quartered by the press. Like a pack of mad dogs — or idiotic children — members of the elite liberal media have gleefully searched into his background to find any dirt they could and have blasted Joe with 'his name's not even Joe!', 'he doesn't have a license and he's not even a plumber,' 'he owes back taxes!' Note: His middle name is Joe, he IS a plumber but, works under his boss' license (a business he is hoping to buy) and there are many in America who still owe taxes. Perhaps this is why he asked the question in the first place? In order to further destroy his credibility for having the audacity — or unmitigated gall — to ask Obama the question, the mainstream media is even checking into Wurzelbacher's divorce! Even Obama and his running mate Biden are now maligning the man.'

"For all of us who can see this entity for what he is and those who still have their eyes closed due to the dazzling visage of their fake worldly redeemer, we can only pray that eyes and ears have been opened. Obama is now shouting at us as to what his presidency will be. We already know it will be built on Marxist 'principles.' But, with this recent example of Joe the Plumber clearly in our minds, we have now been told in the clearest of all possible terms — there are no more doubts — that it will, indeed, be implemented in the ways of Joseph Stalin. No dissension will be tolerated or allowed.

"Is the end to liberty and freedom truly what you want? Or, are you still willing to fight for your country — if not your lives?"
