Approximately 1.3 million abortions are performed in the U.S. each year and only about 1-2 percent is for the 'hard cases': rape, incest, life of the mother. According to the Guttmacher Institute: 'Nearly half of pregnancies among American women are unintended, and four in 10 of these are terminated by abortion. Twenty-two percent of all pregnancies (excluding miscarriages) end in abortion.' This is the inconvenient truth about why a large number of women have abortions!"
